Matchroom Boxing has managed the return of Prizefighter, the professional boxing competition, together with Rakuten Ticket and NSN.
On July 15, action will return to the ring in Japan, courtesy of NSN. Together with Matchroom Boxing, the world’s leading boxing promoter, and Rakuten Ticket, it has organized the return of the Prizefighter professional tournament. Eight boxers, four quarter-finals, three nights of fights, two semi-finals, and one champion. In this competition, the winners will win one million dollars in prize money.
A draw was held in Tokyo on January 31 to determine the pairings for the main fights of the tournament. They will face Japan’s Riku Kunimoto and Eiki Kani, who are also fighting for the middleweight title in Japan, as well as Ireland’s Aaron McKenna and American-Puerto Rican Jeovanny Estela, Britain’s Mark Dickinson and Japan’s Kazuto Takesako, and England’s Kieron Conway and China’s Ainiwaer Yilixiati, in an exciting quarterfinal.
From NSN, we celebrate being part of a project like this, which aims to promote and elevate this sport to the highest level in Japan. Through Prizefighter we want to show our support to the new generations of boxers who want to give their all in the ring, offering them the opportunity to become the best. In addition, we firmly believe that this is another success in developing initiatives capable of combining sports and entertainment.
